Ella finally gets her Axis!

Ella took this from the Wood Blind Sunday morning.   It's an old axis buck just over 30".

Gates' and Ryan's Aoudad side by side! Two big'uns in one evening!!!!

Not sure if that is Gates, though.  Could be the GEICO caveman!  And Ryan is double checking that is Aoudad is really bigger than Gates', he's not so sure anymore!

Ryan got this great Aoudad on Pipeline road.  At least one person on the lease can shoot.  Ryan is so accurate, he decided to shoot through the left horn on the second shot and was successful!

Ella took this Aoudad last night. He was 28". She shot him at around 150 yards with her 7mm-08 using one of my reduced recoil loads - 120 gr Sierra ProHunter at 2,650 fps. He bucked hard, ran 5 feet and fell over. I had her put one in the breast (his chest was facing use as he lay on the ground) for insurance. I wish I had propped him up for a better pic because he was truly awesome. Also, you can see the first shot under the skin on his right shoulder! Perfect mushroom!

She was so excited that she was crying for 5 minutes. It took a good while to get a clear shot as he was pushing all of the other mature males around in a total herd of about 30-35 Aoudad.

Ella dropped this boar at #1 Saturday morning and Annabelle got this mature axis buck at Photo a few minutes later.

Ryan Gets a Gift!

Ryan was returning from a morning hunt at #3 and spotted this axis about 10 yards off the main road inside of the main gate in the dry creek bed.  He got it on the run!  33.5"!

More animals from the Hackberry!

Moonshine got him a big hog and a big bass!  Darryl got a mature aoudad at Cave.

Ella gets down to business!

Ella was busy tonight! She got the white boar at the Spring and then we loaded up the hog, parked at the mailbox, and stalked into the Mailbox feeder and got within 40 yards and she took this sow. The sow ran quite a way after a perfect shot by Ella, but expert tracker dad found her in the dark.

Three Little Pigs

I took Carla turkey hunting this weekend.  We had lots of good turkeys, but no good shot opportunities and managed to scare the turkeys away once on accident and another time a giant hog ran them off (it ran off too).  However, we were setting up midday down South and say a lone heard of 9 little pigs go eat at the mailbox feeder.  When they finished and were heading off, Carla shot into a group with her 20 gauge turkey load.  Got 3 on the ground, 2 were winged and ran away.

Morning Hog for Ella!

Ella and I walked in the Mailbox gate about 7:45-7:50 am Monday morning.  There were 2 hogs and 2 antlerless axis bucks at the feeder.  We sat down on the road and Ella made a perfect shot on this "fidgety" sow.  It ran about 50 yards and dropped - perfect heart shot!

Darryl and Jamie (AKA Moonshine) Connect on a 4x4 Sika and 4 Hogs

Darryl took a nice 4x4 mature Sika that we've all been hunting at Spider.  Jamie took 4 hogs in one morning at South Windmill.
